TRANSLATOR TERMS OF SERVICE

As a translator working with TranslateWise, you must accept and comply with the following agreements and guidelines. These documents form the complete terms of your engagement with our platform.
1. TRANSLATOR CODE OF CONDUCT
Professional Standards
All translators must maintain the highest professional standards:
• Accuracy: Deliver translations that faithfully convey the original meaning
• Confidentiality: Treat all client content as strictly confidential
• Timeliness: Meet all agreed deadlines without exception
• Communication: Respond promptly to queries and feedback
• Integrity: Declare any conflicts of interest immediately
Ethical Guidelines
• Never use machine translation without disclosure
• Respect cultural sensitivities in all translations
• Maintain impartiality and objectivity
• Refuse work beyond your competence level
• Report any unethical requests or content
2. DATA PROTECTION AGREEMENT (GDPR COMPLIANT)
Data Processing Obligations
As a data processor under GDPR, you agree to:
• Lawful Processing: Process personal data only as instructed by TranslateWise
• Confidentiality: Ensure all personnel are bound by confidentiality agreements
• Security Measures: Implement appropriate technical and organizational measures
• Data Deletion: Delete all client data upon completion or termination
• Breach Notification: Report any data breaches within 24 hours
Technical Requirements
• Use encrypted connections for all data transfers
• Store work files only on secured devices
• Implement strong password protection
• Never share login credentials
• Use only approved translation tools
Prohibited Actions
• Copying client data for personal use
• Sharing content with third parties
• Using client content for training AI models
• Storing data on unsecured cloud services
• Processing data outside approved jurisdictions
3. QUALITY STANDARDS DOCUMENT
Translation Quality Requirements
All translations must meet these standards:
• Linguistic Accuracy: 99%+ accuracy in meaning transfer
• Grammar & Spelling: Zero tolerance for errors
• Style Consistency: Maintain consistent tone and terminology
• Cultural Adaptation: Appropriate localization for target audience
• Formatting: Preserve original document structure
Review Process
• Self-review all work before submission
• Use provided glossaries and style guides
• Check against reference materials
• Verify numerical data and proper names
• Ensure completeness (no omissions)
Performance Metrics
• Minimum 95% client satisfaction rating
• Maximum 2% revision rate
• 100% on-time delivery
• Response time under 2 hours during work hours
• Continuous improvement through feedback
4. PAYMENT AND TAXATION GUIDELINES
Payment Terms
• Rates: As agreed in your translator agreement
• Invoicing: Submit invoices monthly via the platform
• Payment Schedule: NET 30 days from invoice approval
• Methods: Bank transfer or approved payment platforms
• Currency: EUR or GBP as specified in agreement
Contractor Status
You acknowledge that you are an independent contractor:
• Not an employee of TranslateWise
• Responsible for your own taxes
• Must maintain appropriate insurance
• Cannot represent yourself as TranslateWise staff
• Free to work for other clients
Tax Obligations
• Register as self-employed in your jurisdiction
• Maintain accurate financial records
• Submit required tax documentation
• Pay all applicable taxes and contributions
• Comply with VAT requirements if applicable
Required Documentation
• Valid tax identification number
• Completed W-8/W-9 or equivalent forms
• Professional liability insurance (recommended)
• Bank account verification
• Signed contractor agreement
5. ACCEPTANCE AND COMPLIANCE
Agreement Acceptance
By working as a translator on the TranslateWise platform, you confirm that you:
• Have read and understood all terms
• Accept all obligations and responsibilities
• Meet all qualification requirements
• Will maintain compliance at all times
• Understand that violations may result in termination
Enforcement
TranslateWise reserves the right to:
• Monitor compliance with these terms
• Request evidence of compliance
• Suspend access for violations
• Terminate agreements for serious breaches
• Pursue legal remedies if necessary
Updates and Modifications
• Terms may be updated with 30 days notice
• Continued work constitutes acceptance
• Material changes require explicit consent
• Current version always available online
